We created a specially typeset stamp for Sami Nabeel's books & editioned prints
This is the first book in my '112 Ways to Make a Photobook' project. Why 112?
It's the number of slots in a designer CD rack I'm using to display them.
For the prototype cover I used some grey card I happened to have. Swatchbooks, like this
Colorset one, are great for helping to choose materials. The pink might not be quite right!
We produced Paul Wakefield's The Landscape as both a standard hardback edition and
a Collector's Edition in a box with a choice of one of three signed original prints.
Leeming & Paterson's Zero Footprint book comprises pictures shot entirely from outside their
back door over a five year period. It's sure to inspire other photographers to do local projects.
Zero Footprint employs a clean design, so as not to draw attention away from the images.
Photo information about the project was kept to a minimum.
Indesign was used to create the lettering and to modify the 'N' for the debossing/foil blocking artwork.
The blocking was done in my home studio, which is fully equipped for printing and photobook making.
I produced the 50x60cm boxes for Sami Nabeel's Nocturnes & Variations print portfolios. The background video shows the box making ND debossing process.
Caroline Tollyfield's Meeting House was created on a location workshop. The main images were all shot through the keyhole of the now sadly demolished old community building.
Joe Wright recently launched his exquisitely presented, limited edition, 100 copy book 'The Floods' on the crowd-source funding website Indiegogo. The book exceeded his goal.
Paul Gallagher's Chords of Grey was printed in duotone. A Formula Guide was used to help match the grey bookcloth to the Pantone inking.
