These are small-group bespoke workshops. One of the things I love about them is how they appeal to the type of creative person who wants to be part of a shared learning experience,
in which everyone supports each other both during and after the workshops.

HAND-SEWN PHOTOBOOK MAKING
ONE-DAY WORKSHOP
LONDON

or call me on 07973 720 641
With professional photobook maker Eddie Ephraums
Time: Saturday. 10.00 – 5.00
Location: my NW London home studio
Cost: £135 including all materials, lunch and refreshments
Small group – Limited to four places
In this small group workshop you will learn how to create two types of beautiful, simple to make, hand-sewn, inkjet printed books.
The easiest to make is a 3-hole sewn book, comprising a single section of several folded and gathered printed sheets, bound with a single thread. The other method we will cover is the Japanese side-sewn/stab-sewn process. All the stages of each process will be covered, from concept to print, including picture editing/sequencing and sewing, with
plenty of time for discussion.
Of particular benefit is the opportunity to learn about picture sequencing in relation to
the concept of your sewn book.
During the workshop you will make your own books, with your own images, using readily available tools, materials and simple technique, so you can repeat the process at home.
You'll need to bring a selection of approximately 15 high resolution jpeg images we can
edit, sequence and print.

CONCERTINA FOLDOUT BOOK MAKING
ONE-DAY WORKSHOP
LONDON
Dates to be announced soon
With professional photobook maker Eddie Ephraums
Time: Saturday. 10.00 – 5.00
Location: my NW London home studio
Cost: £135 including all materials, lunch and refreshments
Small group – Limited to four places
In this small group workshop you will learn how to make inkjet printed concertina books, folded and bound in a variety of ways.
As with the stitch/sewn book workshop, all the stages of the process will be covered, from concept to print, including picture editing/sequencing, design, printing and binding, with plenty of time for discussion. The picture sequencing tends to work slightly differently for a concertina book,
as the book can be viewed either as double page spreads, or as a combination of spreads,
or as the book as a whole.
During the workshop you'll make your own foldout book, based on your images, using readily available tools, materials and simple technique, so you can repeat the process at home. Time permitting, you will learn how to create an easy-to-make, slipcase/sleeve.
You'll need to bring a selection of approximately 15 high resolution jpeg images we can
edit and sequence.
